Who wants to be a QVC millionaire? I do
I’ve been looking at the figures for the two leading home-shopping networks in the USA: QVC and HSN. They now reach into nearly 100 million homes and rake in revenue in the billions. Furthermore, they are no longer the purveyors of hackneyed infomercials but are much more sophisticated. Someone who has been watching this market is Nick Romer, author of a book called Make Millions Selling on QVC. He points out that the typical viewer is a member of a two-income household and that the reason they are watching QVC or HSN is that they want convenient shopping for quality products that are available at affordable prices. Bear in mind, he pointed out in a recent article, QVC is working with the likes of Heidi Koum and Jessica Simpson and that both stations now have strategic partnerships with such organisations as national magazines. What does this mean? It means that the range of products you can now sell via these networks is much wider. Another important point: QVC and HSN are always desperate for new products. Go online to either of their websites and you will find their criteria for judging what they will and won’t promote. Note that you could be selling in the UK, the USA or in other countries around the world. What if they choose your product? Here are a few tips:
Personally, I’ve got the idea of coming up with a product to sell this way on my short list of things to explore over the next 12 months. I would be interested to hear from any other reader who is thinking similarly.
